May this blog serve as a reminder to the NeoNix of the Pisay and Ateneo, in hopes that lessons may be learned from her (mis)adventures.

A first GREAT adventure

This blog entry is hosted on both Blogger and Multiply. Have a look!

//ANNA! PICTURES!

Isang week na ako dito sa Davao since the beginning of sembreak, and yet it was only today na nag laag ( 'gala' to you tagalog peeps :D ) ako. And what better place to visit here in Davao than my high school?

Philippine Science High School - Southern Mindanao Campus

Beginnings of plans were well underway even before semestral break started. I-we heard rumors that we were to attend/lead/omgwtfbbq the Flag Ceremony on the 20th. As you may (or may not know) Flag Ceremonies in Pisay are INSANELY early (7:00am sharp) solemn events complete with an IceBreaker, Bible Reading, Prayer, National Anthem, Panatang Makabayan, Panunumpa ng Lingkod Bayan, Pisay Hymn, Attendance Checking, Gulay of the Week, (and the occasional announcement of Contest Winnings our most brilliant (aswang) students have garnered plus a 10-15 minute segment in which our Directress yawyaw's (dada's) about school and life and sometimes a combination of both.

The original idea was that we show up @ 7:00am, on the dot, just in time to watch the morning's proceedings. Anna and Tara had a few ideas of their own (and naturally I got dragged into it) - we were to show up in a college shirt, paired with the Pisay skirt. Bakit? Kasi. Wala lng. Tripping. Social suicide, what have you.

Needless to say, we were late (who on earth gets up early enough to get to school @ 7:00am anyway?) - we arrived just as the assembly ended and the students were going back to their classrooms. It did not, however, stop us from barging in into the academe, and earning thunderous laughs from the teachers and our batchmates who managed to spot us (OMG PISAY SKIRT) and we immediately formed a little circle and swapped stories (right in front of the Registrar's Office). Our get-up earned us several stares (O_O) and more and more laughs as more and more people noticed us. We had to revert to normal clothing, (except Anna, who was wearing short shorts) before we started touring the campus since it was so damn hot and the stares were getting kinda old. :))

Nad door-to-door kami, pausing only when we knew the teacher, and we answered their questions about college and stuff. (Pinapasok pa kami sa Calcium, sa Kamia at sa Diamond! Hahaha) There were several uncomfortable special mentions when it came to the "Saan kayo nag college? " question (UPD kaming lahat... except si Yoni... where on earth did the ADMU people go? T_T) but it was all in good fun and we enjoyed ourselves.

Something worth seeing in Pisay - the gym. Rather, the GYM. There were rooms built where the badminton courts were - rooms which were actually drafting rooms, dance rooms, etc. Due to the low ceilings, and twisty tunnel-like corridors, they bore a strong resemblance to dungeons of the days long past. (side comment: dyan napupunta ang mga na-IR [Incident Report] )

Not only that, ung CR, pang mall na ang dating, may showers na, there were bleachers EVERYWHERE (side comment: Anong point sa paglagay ng napakaraming bleachers kung hindi natin mapupuno?), and there were locker rooms, and HUGE dressing rooms backstage. Hardwood na rin ang Basketball court. Oh diba, chui???

While all this development was going on, however, the students have taken to murdering the grass (not like it's a bad thing, mind you, it's just that mahigpit na ipinagbabawal ang pag-apak sa damo sa panahon namin -_-) in the ABD (Area Between Dorms) and the Quad(-rangle).

Something NOT worth seeing in Pisay - our batch Legacy. Our Low-cost, Lovely, Legacy. Rated L for Legacy! (Grabe na gyud ang dili maka-gets. :D )

We went to SM for lunch (YES we stayed in Pisay the whole morning); we ate at Shakey's, specifically. We also found... quite a lot of people there! Haha. (Grabe ang payat ni John S!!) Regrettably, we had to leave for Boyztrek to meet up with Chardi (and perhaps Jan) and so we (Anna, Ella, Juneh and I) bid the others a most tearful goodbye.

The original plan was to head off to People's Park right after, but the rain spoiled our chances of going. (Taligsik/Ambon in Manila usually hailed the arrival of a STORM - we simply forgot that taligsik/ambon in Davao meant... just that, or worst case scenario, mere RAINFALL later in the evening.) Add that to the fact that the guys were nowhere to be found for the first 30minutes of our arrival. :D We opted to hang out in NCCC instead, and there we played Naruto (oh how I missed that) for an hour, before we went our separate ways.

Banga lng gihapon ko sa Naruto. LOL. But who carez. :D

It was a very nostalgic trip. I am so glad I went. SUPER sulit talaga, since I got to see a whole damn lot of people. :D

So guys... when's our next great adventure?!

The following statement is a FACT.
"Hindi nagpapalibak ang Pisay People."
Pisay has special powers. Beware.

Do NOT take this post seriously.

$h!t happens, i know. What I didn't know was that $h!t occurs quite often.

I WAS VERY HAPPY na walang stupid na nangyari for the month of August. :) By that, I meant that I didn't lose anything, I did all of my homework, and I was able to sleep sufficiently.

Tapos just recently..

  • nagiging stupid/sabaw ako. I stopped being coherent. o_O I can't speak a sentence of pure tagalog without messing up. The word 'like' is now my new friend. (read: CONYO)
  • (last week of August) DRAMA sa block.
  • slept @ 2:30am on a SCHOOL NIGHT (OH NOES)
  • I LOST/misplaced/dropped MY PRECAL BOOK.
  • I FAILED to acquire a non-scientific calculator for Math LT
$h!t for the future:
  • $h!t filipino reporting sa Monday. Wah. Bulol ako. EPIC FAIL.
  • critical paper for English
  • OMG NOVEL SA LIT FINALS HINDI KO PA NABABASA
  • I need to find PRECAL Book
  • other $h!t.
aww... $h!t. Pero "have fun with life :D" sabi ni Jotham, and so I will. Hindi nga lng talaga maiiwasan na may $h!t na nangyayari.

Moar "me"s..

Me.

Me?

There are many me's. Many Yonies. I know, the thought may be too horrible to comprehend, (just what we need! More of YOU!) but bear with me. 'Tis for the sake of my sanity.

There's a nerdy me. This Yoni actually has fun studying. Yes, she reads 'Economics' for the sheer fun of it. Her favorite place to stay is in the library... and it is the only place where she ever shuts up. Yoni hates Math, mostly because big numbers confuse her, SS, because she can't remember squat, Bio, for pretty much the same reason, Pinoy, because she's so darn English (although, she's speaking in Cebuano now..) and Physics. No – wait, scratch that; she doesn't hate Physics. She just hates the fact that she actually sleeps in Physics class now. (wonder why.) Must be because she stayed up all night netting. Shame, shame, nerdy Yoni! Oddly enough, nerdy Yoni only comprises half of my logical thought.

*Assuming that nerdy = geeky, nerdy Yoni loves computers. Enough said.

I assume you all met evil/dark me. EvilYoni is insane, in a sort of... dangerous kind of way. You never know what she's thinking about. Say something sensitive about her, and she clams up and looks the other way. And stays in that condition. For about two minutes. Then she goes all chatty again.

Make her your enemy, and treat her like crap. Try talking to her like nothing happened the next day; she'll act normally (well, as normal as you can get). She'll grin, joke, and carry on a conversation with you. Sure. If only you have mind reading powers... well, you'll be running as fast as you could the other way. That is, away. Evil Yoni harbors hate deep within, and lashes out at you when you least expect it. A backstabber? Oh yes. Is she vengeful? Very. Lucky for the enemy, there's a happy, compassionate, logical Yoni to keep this dangerous side in check.

Take note that evil Yoni is as manipulative as heck. She makes a wonderful actress. You can never second guess her. Her only weakness is the emotional Yoni.

Emotional Yoni is responsible for the icky picky feelings (urgh) I'm feeling right now. You know.. love.... crushes.... sympathy..... agh. That stuff. This Yoni couldn't keep her feelings to herself. Easily manipulated. Swoons a LOT. It's a shame that half the logic goes to this alter ego (the other half is divided equally among the other two) hence her apparent idiocy.

EMO!

Wanna know MOAR?

Of course, how can we forget HUNGRY Yoni - she who eats a lot of everything? This Yoni is being pushed down, constantly harassed, stepped upon and beat up by all the other Yonies. (This explains Yoni's physical appearance, nyahaha..) Yes, she exists. You can't sense her, but she's there.

A very prominent Yoni is the NOISY Yoni... which is, of course, noisy! The power of yappity yap in Yoni's hands is a very scary Yoni to behold. She can either send crowds to sleep, or jar them awake with her high pitched tones. Dear me! Nothing seems to stop NOISY Yoni!

And here comes LAZY Yoni. She procrastinates. ALL THE TIME.

And so this entry ends.

Sticks and stones are hard on bones
Aimed with angry art
Words can sting like anything
But silence breaks the heart
