May this blog serve as a reminder to the NeoNix of the Pisay and Ateneo, in hopes that lessons may be learned from her (mis)adventures.

Here I stand at a crossroads

Except it’s not; really
There is no fork in the road before me
No multiple trails for me to choose
One path is clear that I can see
And I only need to walk it.

Why, then, am I afraid to walk?
Afraid of what, exactly?
I cast furtive glances at the jungle around me
The cliff on one side stares eagerly back
I gulp and continue on the path before me.

I’d like to think my trail is easy to follow
But often I find the path is not there
“Is there even a path?” a voice mocks in my head
I want to listen, I really do
My feet know better; they carry me forward.

My path sometimes crosses with a stranger’s
Some going back the way I came
A few stay with me awhile, and we swap stories of our travels
Fewer still, stay and walk with me
I am glad I stayed on my path.

Still today, I walk
I freely admit now; I know not what lies at the end
But I know that it does not matter
One path is laid out before me
And I only need to walk it.

Something's missing.

This blog entry is hosted on both Blogger and Multiply. Have a look!

I'm having too much fun with college life. >_> OH HELP THE ACADS. I've neglected my blogging na. OHNOES.

I went digging in my drafts folder, and I found this. It was about two stanzas long, and nowhere near finished. LOLZ. I decided to fill in the blanks nalang, para naman may ma publish ako.

YAY FOR SABAWNESS. :D

'What is love?', I have asked, on so many a time,
Whenever I sat down and I wrote in rhyme,
For love is a favorite topic of all
Especially to those, to love, they did fall.

I do not know love, and yet I still write,
Even though I know naught of this troublesome plight-
-if a plight indeed is what you call that state,
of being utterly unable to hate.

//THIS IS A JOOOOOOOOOOKE
Love is deaf. Love is blind. And then another cheesy line. I especially remember one about gum- Love is makapilit, makabuang.
//THIS IS A JOOOOOOOOOOKE

Love- True Love- is it as they say?
As I see it in movies or is there simply no way?
Will those perfect stories only exist in a book?
Can you really fall in love with just one look?

And heartbreak! Is it the end of the line?
To have your loved one leave you for indefinite time?
Is it serious? Is it nothing? Or is it what I dread?
That is - one would spill drops of bright red?

We do not live forever - this much I do know.
Happy endings...... just how is this so?
Happily ever after, the fairy tales proclaim,
How can there be a lie that's simply this lame?

Too many ideas - too much to swallow
I guess I'll never be able to follow.
..I suppose I will just have to sit and wait;
For that one arrow to seal my fate.

Challenge Essay: My Room

This blog entry is hosted on both Blogger and Multiply. Have a look!

My English teacher decided to give my class a headache (as if the 3 other papers we have to pass weren't bad enough), and ordered/requested/asked us to write another essay. Here are the rules:

  • "My Room" essay must talk about -duh- your room.
  • 100-150 words
  • maximum of 10 words per sentence
  • each form of (to be) verb can only be used twice, max.
  • each channel of perception (sight, hearing, etc.) can only be used twice
  • no adverbs allowed
Having done so, I tried to do this monstrous undertaking.

I can only hope I brought the piece justice.

My Room

Warm light floods the room. I see blue walls set against a white ceiling. I’m sitting on a chair that is flat and angular. The book in my hands reeks of new paper. I clutch my pen firmly; plastic tube digging into skin. The fan’s whirr distracts me from writing. I slouch as I write. A cold breeze slips in from the windows. The curtains flap aside to make way. Dust bunnies begin to migrate across the floor in droves. My eyelids begin to droop. I slip into bed and my back meets the firm mattress. I rest my head against soft pillows. The whirr becomes soothing instead. I close my eyes, and drift into sleep.

"On clear and peaceful nights like these,
There's nothing more I'd like to do
Than to lie down, under the heavens,
And to gaze at the stars with you...

PROM NIGHT HANGOVERRRRRRRR

The night was young, and so were we
Princes and Princesses all
I have received a special invite
A 'Secret Garden' ball.

From every corner of the world, I bet
Came all the nobles and princes I met.
So handsome and friendly were they
I can only stare and drool their way.

The ladies were not to be outdone
Their hair, their makeup, of course, their gowns
Attracted the men at that event
They were VERY beautiful; that's what I meant!

The noble seated next to me,
Was so dashing, so bright,
With me alone, his time was spent
I'd never wish for this night to end!
He impressed me with his gentlemanly ways,
Oh yes, I think his name was Ace. [thanx nga pala sa token! :D]

The dancers on the dance floor, impressed me with their skills
I never knew queens could dance like that, with all their crowns and frills
Our turn soon came; we showed them all, that we can mambo to the beat
Kingdom Neutronia, [ROCK DA WORLD!] now that's one way to greet!

The food wasn't bad, [as compared to last year's,]
If it was, there were heads to be had.
I had scarcely finished my meal when;
They announced the royalties' dance.

The music began, we started to waltz..
I knew we were caught unprepared
We were quite busy these past few days;
For dancing, only so much time can be spared
A very good thing it was indeed:
My left foot was spared of its demise.

After the crowning [yes there was one!]
Of the Queen and King of all the young
The partying finally began.

A splash of color, here and there, was all that remains to be seen.
As we princesses mingled amongst the crowd
Red meets yellow. A touch of green.
All reveled in this world unseen.
The beat; it started to sound.

Quick movement followed. Spectacles flew,
As the frenzied dancers moved to the beat
Bedlam reigned, my hair was askew.
When will it be over? I can't take this heat!

When all quieted down, and the crowds seem to clear,
And when I heard not a single cheer
When all movement slowed, I realized then,
Too soon, too soon, this night did end.

FAILED attempt to create Grad song lyrics..

Have you ever wished for something to be over..

Before it has even begun?

Have you ever wished for something good to happen..

When all hope seemed gone?

Did you ever stop to look around,

To take in all the things you see?

Did you even once, thank the Lord,

For the ties you have with me?

I tell you now, that now is not too late,

For the time to go draws ever near,

Be careful when you wish for it to end

You'll be wishing to be back here.

The time to say goodbye draws near...

To friends and foes, to untold woes

To apprehensiveness and fear

To those whom you hold close

And To those whom you hold dear.

......

Just who am I really?

//Written during English period. It's a requirement. Finished in 30 minutes or less. So maybe I was inspired.

Just who am I really?

As cold as ice I seem to be,
And yet a fire burns within me.

While noise and chatter may be all you hear,
Silence is something I hardly fear.

An owl in the moonlight; Is that what you see?
Would you believe I am a fox running free?

"Forever falling?" you ask me why,
You simply cannot see me fly.

//whoop de doo..
