May this blog serve as a reminder to the NeoNix of the Pisay and Ateneo, in hopes that lessons may be learned from her (mis)adventures.

Days leading up to college

This blog entry is hosted on both Blogger and Multiply. Have a look!

I. Hate. Air. Travel.

Okay,so airplanes are cool. Very cool. I like the fact that PAL put a camera in front of the plane... and I was like “oooohhh” when it took off. The ride was smooth... hardly any turbulence... it was quite ok, actually.

Then we began our initial descent. And then... UMAYGAD sumakit ang left ear ko! It felt like someone was drilling a hole into it or something. GEEZ. Working my jaws hardly helped. My dad urged me to drink some orange juice (ick) to ease the pain... then things took a turn for the worse: MY STOMACH WAS ACTING UP!

And guess what? When we landed, the first thing I looked for was the restroom. There, I blew chunks. Good thing the flight attendant was nice enough to give me 3 souvenir sick bags (rather fetching ones, I must say) to hurl my guts into. UGH.

Not to mention the fact that we arrived at around 1:12AM since our flight got delayed. And so you can imagine me resisting the urge to BARF as we drove towards Cavite (I will be staying there until June 1 or 2). Time of arrival? 2AM.

Naturally, I woke up LATE (9:30 AM... omg). On that day, we went to Ocean Park (OMNOMNOM FISH)... Luneta...MOA.. damnit its HUGE... So grabe. Kapoy kaayo. Will shop for stuff tomorrow.

Neonix's log, stardate 5.31.08

MOA again. This time, we shopped for.. dorm stuff. and groceries. And did I mention I got a laptop? Well, I did! A shiny new ASUS EEE 900 white PC. I'm using it to type this blog entry. :D I named it Shiko. <3

Nag IMAX rin kami. (FISH OMNOMNOM) tapos... PYROLYMPICS! YAY! Oh well. there will always be more (anime)cons in manila I guess.. oH well...

Neonix's log, stardate 06.02.08

Kim hasn't come in yet, and Gabby and Wayne are nowhere to be found.. Help. I just might die here...

Nostalgia

My head is still spinning from the Mindanao State Convention for the Knights of Columbus we attended last April 25-27. Well.. as long as you interpreted being part of the registration team as 'attended'.

The whole ID printing system is automated, and I was among those tasked to man the workstations. There were 4 of them, plus my dad's laptop which controlled the printer. Take note: 1 printer vs. anywhere from 700-800 participants. Expect total and utter mayhem.

And so it was that the crowding, the yelling, and the chaos ESCALATED... Get this: even my supervisor during the SSIP [Fr. Junar] helped [the Chancery was nearby], in what seemed to be a vain effort to control the crowd. T_T If the mob crowd isn't at the printer, it would be over at the other table [giving out kits and stuff].

Even Anna stepped in to help. [after lunch] Still. The crowd... the HEAT... ugh.

Now that's what I call community service! :D

But that's not the point I'm trying to get across.

You see, the convention was held at the [where else?] Davao CONVENTION center. The very same place we held our JS Prom. When we were juniors, that is.

OMGZZFLASHBACKMEMORIESPROMWHEE!!

People who know me have probably noticed something.... weird about me. I EASILY FORGET. I forget the important things in life... like names, faces, dates, events... [Yes Arie, I'm SORRY!!! T_T] There are exceptions to the rule, but it mostly applies to a lot of things. Mundane things... laags... special events... the so called 'MEMORABLE' moments... Interestingly, I remember school stuff more than I remember the important stuff.

So there. It's one of the reasons why I keep a blog running, actually... I might miss a whole chapter of my life just because I traded my memories for some Chem/BIo/Phys jargon I probably wouldn't need/care about in the future. gAH. Stupid bad memory.

That's why I was ecstatic when I found myself remembering that PROM night as if it had happened yesterday! Like a video set in fast forward, I could practically see what I saw, what I experienced that night - a year and some months ago.

I tested it out again when I visited Pisay last May 2. And... it was just... wow. I caught myself thinking: 'Haha.. grabe ang paghihirap ng officers namin dyan...' 'I used to wait there for my sundo in first year...' 'Dito pala ako dumadaan kapag late na..' 'Kapag naririnig ko na ang boses ni Maam Palicte, late na ako!! T_T' 'Waah.. dito nag tambak ang mga Assumptionista nung 1st screening...' 'lol Health interview' 'Boohoo, pingpong..' 'Pearl... Dahlia.... Calcium... Neutron...'

..and so much more.

Nostalgia... seems to be the perfect word for it.

Well, I'm just glad that I'm not really suffering from memory loss. :P

So.. I guess I'll have to revisit Men Seng and the Cursillo(sp?) house, eh? :D

Bokbokbokborokbokbok

...let's do da chicken pox dance!

I apologize, my friends... I realize na matagaltagal na rin since my last blog update. OF COMPUTERING [if there is such a thing...].

I just had my Singapore Interview last April 24. It was... scary. I was scheduled to be interviewed @ 5pm... so I was the last one there. I only met Wayne when he was heading out of Marco Polo! And so I was forced to wait there in the lobby... with Anna for company... and that Pisay photographer guy [yes, we saw him. don't ask.]

April 24 is exactly a week after my chickenpox blisters came out. And chicken pox takes a week [give or take a few days] for it to heal. Waaah. I almost canceled the interview... for fear that my interviewers might be sprouting blisters the very next day [thus effectively marooning them here in the Philippines]

My english wasn't very good [thanks to my four year stay in Pisay and a certain John S*..] and so I wasn't exactly confident when I entered the room. They asked me stuff about academics... my family... etc.. etc.. etc.. The KILLER question was the CURRENT EVENTS one... Gah... I really need to start watching the news...

I shook both their hands on my way out, and met Anna in the lobby. Nag explore kami sa Marco Polo. And... well, what do you know, nakasabay ko ang isang interviewer ko sa elevator!

"Hello." -singaporean

"Hi!" [high pitched squeak] -me

"...friend mo na siya??" -Anna

LOL.

We [Anna and I] explored for around 30 minutes... Yes, we went up to the 18th floor.. ahh... how relaxing...

what WASN'T relaxing was the fact that I am a member of the registration team for the 14th (er.. I THINK it was the 14th..) Mindanao State Convention for the Knights of Columbus the very next day. T_T

But that's for another blog entry. :D
