My head is still spinning from the Mindanao State Convention for the Knights of Columbus we attended last April 25-27. Well.. as long as you interpreted being part of the registration team as 'attended'.
The whole ID printing system is automated, and I was among those tasked to man the workstations. There were 4 of them, plus my dad's laptop which controlled the printer. Take note: 1 printer vs. anywhere from 700-800 participants. Expect total and utter mayhem.
And so it was that the crowding, the yelling, and the chaos ESCALATED... Get this: even my supervisor during the SSIP [Fr. Junar] helped [the Chancery was nearby], in what seemed to be a vain effort to control the crowd. T_T If the mob crowd isn't at the printer, it would be over at the other table [giving out kits and stuff].
Even Anna stepped in to help. [after lunch] Still. The crowd... the HEAT... ugh.
Now that's what I call community service! :D
But that's not the point I'm trying to get across.
You see, the convention was held at the [where else?] Davao CONVENTION center. The very same place we held our JS Prom. When we were juniors, that is.
OMGZZFLASHBACKMEMORIESPROMWHEE!!
People who know me have probably noticed something.... weird about me. I EASILY FORGET. I forget the important things in life... like names, faces, dates, events... [Yes Arie, I'm SORRY!!! T_T] There are exceptions to the rule, but it mostly applies to a lot of things. Mundane things... laags... special events... the so called 'MEMORABLE' moments... Interestingly, I remember school stuff more than I remember the important stuff.
So there. It's one of the reasons why I keep a blog running, actually... I might miss a whole chapter of my life just because I traded my memories for some Chem/BIo/Phys jargon I probably wouldn't need/care about in the future. gAH. Stupid bad memory.
That's why I was ecstatic when I found myself remembering that PROM night as if it had happened yesterday! Like a video set in fast forward, I could practically see what I saw, what I experienced that night - a year and some months ago.
I tested it out again when I visited Pisay last May 2. And... it was just... wow. I caught myself thinking: 'Haha.. grabe ang paghihirap ng officers namin dyan...' 'I used to wait there for my sundo in first year...' 'Dito pala ako dumadaan kapag late na..' 'Kapag naririnig ko na ang boses ni Maam Palicte, late na ako!! T_T' 'Waah.. dito nag tambak ang mga Assumptionista nung 1st screening...' 'lol Health interview' 'Boohoo, pingpong..' 'Pearl... Dahlia.... Calcium... Neutron...'
..and so much more.
Nostalgia... seems to be the perfect word for it.
Well, I'm just glad that I'm not really suffering from memory loss. :P
So.. I guess I'll have to revisit Men Seng and the Cursillo(sp?) house, eh? :D

May this blog serve as a reminder to the NeoNix of the Pisay and Ateneo, in hopes that lessons may be learned from her (mis)adventures.

and RYC!!! wahahaha.. in DAVAO!! during SEM BREAK!!! wahahahaha!!
haayyy..
" for us to move forward.. we'll always look back.. to the place where we've grown and jammed our hearts out in hallways.. we'll never be alone.."
xet.. i still remember that.. O.o
anyways.. the purpose of memories is so that one could see the good and bad things that happened in life.. and learn from them.. which is why one should move forward.. to make more memories..
wag na wag mo ako kalimutan, yon.. bantay ra kung malimtan ko nimo.. wahahaha.. jOwk!! XD
see ya in manila!! :)
IMO, you really don't need to visit Cursillo house. I'm pretty sure that's not one of the more memorable facets of the Pisay experience.
Men Seng is good though.
Another thing I may want to add is the CAP Auditorium, since we had two events that were held there.
Anyways, I hope you don't get too caught up in your nostalgia. You'll grow thinner if you do lol.
